Case Foundation, Perfectmatch.com Lead Partnership Encouraging Singles
to "Get Engaged" and Make a Difference for Valentine's Day
Campaign Helps Individuals Get Involved, Meet New People and Share the Love
San Francisco (February 5, 2007) – Inspiring singles across the nation to "get engaged" through volunteering this Valentine's Day is an unexpected group of businesses and nonprofits, including the Case Foundation, Perfectmatch.com, OrganicBouquet.com and Hands On Network. Recognizing the power of community service to bring people together, the "Get Engaged" campaign (www.casefoundation.org/getengaged) provides fun and meaningful ways singles can make a difference in their communities while getting to know others who share their passions and interests.
"We are excited to offer singles a memorable experience this Valentine's Day," said Jean Case, CEO of the Case Foundation. "This campaign is designed to showcase the many ways that giving back can be easy, fun and rewarding. It is our hope that this Valentine's Day and throughout the year, singles everywhere will get involved, meet new people and share the love through a volunteer service experience."
Anyone can get "engaged" and receive a free two-month membership with Perfectmatch.com by signing the pledge at www.casefoundation.org/getengaged. This specially created Web page also offers details on:
"Get Engaged" volunteer events on February 10 and 11 in San Francisco, Chicago and Philadelphia; and
Top places to get engaged anywhere in the country.
As part of the campaign, volunteer events for singles will be held on February 10 and 11 in Philadelphia, Chicago and San Francisco. Managed by one of the nation's leading volunteer organizations, Hands On Network, volunteer events in these cities will range from beautifying a zoo to celebrating the day with disabled adults and children. In addition, the campaign Web site offers tips on finding other local events taking place throughout the country during the month of February and beyond, thanks to campaign partners Hands On Network, AmeriCorps Alums, City Year, Idealist.org, KaBOOM!, the Points of Light Foundation, United Way, and Youth Service America.
In addition to the opportunity to meet others with similar passions, companies have joined in the campaign to offer sweet rewards -- including a two-month free membership to PerfectMatch.com and free flowers from OrganicBouquet.com.
"Perfectmatch is pleased to be a part of such a historic and meaningful campaign," said Dr. Pepper Schwartz, a leading relationship authority and Perfectmatch's relationship expert. "A lasting, loving relationship can develop only with someone who matches your needs and is truly compatible with you, but it's not as hard as you think. You just have to be willing to take a non-traditional approach, which is what singles across the world can experience with events like these."
